USEFUL INFORMATION

Even though residents of certain countries may enter the Republic of Serbia without passports, with their ID cards, to be absolutely safe you are advised to bring with you a valid passport.

If you still prefer to use your ID card, we strongly recommend to you to call your local Embassy or the Consulate of the Republic of Serbia and to make sure that people of your nationality are eligible to do so. For more information about the general entry requirements for Serbia please visit www.mfa.gov.rs.

The official currency of the Republic of Serbia is Serbian dinar (RSD). In circulation there are:

  • Coins á 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 dinars
  • Banknotes á 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 200, 1,000 and 5,000 dinars

The official exchange rate for EUR according to the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) is about 118 RSD for 1 EUR.

Foreign currency can be exchanged in all banks and post offices, as well as in the many authorized exchange offices (in Serbian: „Menjačnica“).
